“Nicholas Nickleby” is one of the most famous novels of Charses Dickens. And I would like to tell you about the screening of this novel. “Nickolas Nickleby” is a British/American drama film. The film tells us the story of the life and adventures of Nicholas Nickleby. At the beginning of the film we meet with Nicholas and his family. The film transfers us in England, the 1st half of 19th century (Victorian era). Young Nicholas and his family have enjoyed a comfortable life. Than Nicholas` father dies and the family is left penniless. Nicholas, his sister and his mother go to London to ask for help from their disgusting uncle Ralph. Ralph is a cruel person he starts to exploit Nicholas` family. Nicholas is sent to a school run by the cruel, abusive, and horribly person Wackford Squeers. Nicholas runs away with his student Smike. The two of them set off on an adventure to find and reunite the Nickleby family. The climax of the film is exposure of an awful uncle Ralph. And of course like in all American film in the end of the films we see happy end. =) The main protagonist of this film is Nicholas and of course there is opposite character. The main villain is Ralph. But as we know the good people always win the evil. I like this film. In my point of view the acting is perfect. Most of all I like camera work, because we can see a lot of beautiful landscapes and incredible town views.
I` d advise you to see this film, because it` s the best screening of this novel. The film was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. It received the National Board of Review Award for Best Cast, and Romola Garai was nominated for the Jameson People's Choice Award for the Best European Actress at the European Film Awards.
